American social safety nets and retirement readiness has always been extremely weak. Now it's actively being targeted and destroyed by the government. So unless experts are telling you to reduce that risk by amassing in arms, revolting, targeting the ultra wealthy, and going to war with the government, they ain't shit.

Delay Social Security benefits until 70?!!

Buy annuities?!!!

Social Security is not going to exist when I'm 62, much less 70.

How do annuities help me if Trump and the GOP tank the dollar and we are hit with hyperinflation?

What if my wife and/or I get sick? A single prolonged illness could easily wipe out thirty years worth of retirement savings.

...but I shouldn't worry. Right.

Of course buy annuities! What do you have against hardworking ~~insurance salesmen~~ financial advisors earning the commissions they deserve?

Or die trying. Either way, problem solved.

Start smoking and drinking, ensure that you don't make it that far

I quit smoking and drinking a year or so ago and I’m no happier than I was before I quit.

Of course I’m not worried about dying. I don’t have to foot the bill.

My parents died at 72 and 74. A lot of us working class people don’t live that long.
