I'm stoked to have successfully received and decoded an SSTV signal from the ISS for the first time using my cheap Baofeng radio and QSSTV. Took a few tries, but luckily the ISS has been passing over my area several times per day over the last few days, so I've had several opportunities to try it.

That's a good signal for an HT. Were you using a directional antenna?

Make sure auto slant is checked in QSSTV. It will help with the skewing.

Just used the stock antenna that came with the HT. Cheapest antenna money can buy, just about. But I live out in the countryside and don't have a lot of tall trees or buildings obscuring the view, so there was a solid 7 minute window where the ISS was passing directly overhead.

Was a bit cloudy, so I couldn't actually see it when it was passing over, but the signal came through clear as a bell.

Well Done :) I'm fascinated by the fact you are getting a "clear" image using QSSTV - I've been using QSSTV for a bit now, and all my images are plagued by a moire effect that is decreasing the image quality :(
