This is the best summary I could come up with:
On Monday, the NGO Grupa Granica (Border Group) - which aids refugees and migrants in Poland - said it was supporting the 22-year-old Syrian man in hospital, providing him with legal and psychological assistance.
Piotr Czaban, a Polish humanitarian activist, first reported on Saturday that a Syrian man had been shot, with “the bullet getting stuck in his spine”.
The unnamed soldier could face up to three years in prison, possibly increasing to eight if the man is severely injured or dies, for careless handling of weapons and unintentionally causing injury to another person, PAP - a state-run Polish news agency - report.
Belarussian officials have been accused of cutting holes in border fences and pushing large groups of migrants through, as well as guiding them to weak spots, amid soaring geopolitical tensions.
Polish border guards have been repeatedly accused of violently pushing migrants back into Belarus - a practice that is illegal under international law.
Activists say the body of the man found on the Belarus border is the 55th confirmed fatality during what has been called Europe's forgotten migration crisis.
The original article contains 544 words, the summary contains 182 words. Saved 67%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
"Careless handling of weapons" should be disciplined in every case, not just when someone gets hurt. But yeah let's send people not properly trained to a border where the training might actually be important. This sickening.
I am convinced this soldier will never be punished for what he did. And I am convinced it’s a totally made up story and it actually was attempted murder. I am convinced that the prosecutors just don’t want to know.
Can anyone give me advice on how to gain back trust in EU authorities.
Can anyone give me advice on how to gain back trust in EU authorities.
You don't. Stay critical. Sometimes they get stuff right, often they don't. There's nothing to do about that than to demand consequences and independent control instances. Vote for parties who want that too or get political yourself by joining a party and talking to people about your ideas. That's how democracy works. It's slow and most of the time it sucks. But it's the best we currently have. Let's hope it gets optimized.
Is solider a solidary soldier?
solidarity for shooting refugees?
idk, fucking typos man
Syrian refugee at the Polish-Belarusian border. Long way from home it seems
clearly that is the key takeaway here and not the reckless or intentional shooting of unarmed civillians by polish military...
Was I supposed to post the key takeaway? Sorry I had no idea
