"According to data provided to Pitchfork by the concert trade publication Pollstar, the average face-value concert ticket price globally year-to-date is $79.42, up 14 percent from $69.59 in 2019, the last full year before COVID-19 upended the live music industry. Itβs worth considering that according to Pollstar, the global average face-value concert ticket in 2000 cost $35.19, which is equivalent to approximately $63 today after inflation. That kind of price hike is notable: Ticket prices have gone up faster than the cost of other consumer goods over the last 20 years."
