And in peak adhd, I almost uploaded the wrong image entirely with the wrong title. Why? Because I was paying attention to something else.

Just kill me!

And they're all room temperature because you forgot to drink them

[–] Stamets@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

And this is why I have an ice maker

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah but ice doesnt put the ~~happiness~~ bubbles back in

[–] ExtraMedicated@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The water is room temperature. The coffee is somehow much colder, but not in the good iced coffee way.

[–] LeninOnAPrayer@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

What causes that? Is it the coffee cup that actually makes the coffee taste slightly cooler than room temp water in a glass? I'm guessing. I don't know if it's actually colder. But probably more due to the heat transfer you're feeling from your lips to the mug?

Either way, I'm going to go put this in the microwave so I can find it there again at around 10PM when I finally remember I didn't eat anything besides snacks and need to heat up a burrito.

That's how the Yeti Cup ads start. Right?

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 9 points 2 months ago

I cut it down to just coffee and water. My phone keeps my brain “happy.”

[–] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I feel like I'm always carrying water around, but never actually drinking it... I know I should drink more water, so I always keep it available; but I always lean towards something sweet/flavored instead. Particularly pop/iced tea.

[–] Stamets@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I had the same issue but many a moons ago I was watching Sassy Gay Friend and they were advertising this new thing. So new that they couldnt' afford real advertisements. Mio. Now, Mio has gotten shit since but the liquid flavor enhancer stuff I SWEAR BY. I always have it in my water and I go through a lot more water due to it.

Is that healthy? No fuckin' clue but I drink way more water now so it's a trade off. Literally been years of using this shit. My god over a decade. I'm old as fuck.

And no not an advertisement for Mio because I am not getting paid. I wish I was getting paid so I could afford their competitors. Honestly I like the Great Value ones personally but Crystal Light is nice too. Their pomegranate one is tasty

I've tried a few of those flavor additives for water, but every one I've tried has artificial sweeteners in it that I can't get past the taste of. Aspartame in particular is the only thing I can taste when it's in a drink. Sucralose is another one that just ruins flavor.

That and I like my caffeine, but I'm not big on coffee...

I appreciate the suggestion though :)

I'm tired of the constant pissing

Born to drink, forced to piss

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 months ago

Nothing a funnel and hose can't fix

[–] PineRune@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Hey, some of us enjoy it!

[–] Kojichan@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Get out of my head!

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Or you switch to caffeinated seltzer, because fuck you, brain. Fuck you, body. Not coffee, not water, not sugar, just do your fucking job and maybe we'll get snacks later.

[–] PineRune@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Hydro Homies with ADHD use water for all 3!

[–] pHr34kY@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

I'm a programmer so I use coffee for all 3.

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

I constantly have water with me. I also will generally have a soda or energy drink at some point, and then I usually end up with some kind of juice or milk because I forgot that I still hadn't finished my soda.

[–] PillowTalk420@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I'm pretty sure I have more than 3 and it's not for that reason. It's because I got more drink in a new cup forgetting I already had half a drink right in front of me. 😬

[–] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

This broke me

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

And then I proceed to forget to drink any of them and wonder why I’m exhausted by the middle of the afternoon

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

Beer, weed, cocaine

[–] nixcamic@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I hate most Starbucks drinks but I gotta say the Java chip frappuccino really hits all three for me. I rarely ever drink them but every now and then it's like, I need the Holy Trinity of beverages.

[–] Bunbury@feddit.nl 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Hmm… I don’t drink coffee. Maybe I should start.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It really depends on your flavor of attention deficit.

My personal brand never really came with the hyper activity. So while stimulants like caffeine sort of help, they mostly just don't seem to do anything.

[–] Bunbury@feddit.nl 2 points 2 months ago

My hyperactivity is mainly mental only. Brain going a million miles per hour without really being able to focus on any of it and never any downtime.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

I drank eight cups of coffee every day for like six years at my last job. Then COVID hit and I didn’t drink much because I took a couple years off. Now I CANNOT drink coffee because it makes my body feel like my heart is going to explode. Adderall is fine, cocaine is fine. But caffeine RUINS me for hours of horrible unpleasantness. It’s wild.

Water/coffee gang checking in: You're wrong!

[–] sheogorath@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Ahhhh fuck you just described my work desk setup. Sometimes I like to combine the coffee and fun drink to make it more efficient.

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

laughs in cola addiction

Of course I also start the day with a liter of tea

[–] M137@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Me with three glasses of carbonated water and a cup of coffee I took two sips of.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 months ago

I can't be the only one who puts them all in the same (lidded) cup, right? Because if there's more than one I will knock one over.

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Here's mine!

[–] mm_maybe@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

This is how I got into mixed drinks, no noke

[–] PunksAlwaysWin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

In Texas, we drink sweet tea. its water, caffeine, and sugar for something fun all in one!

[–] AnimalsDream@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 months ago

The fun drink might be more crucial for adhd than the coffee, if it's a sugary drink. People with adhd tend to have lower levels of glucose in the brain and benefit from little boosts.
