In the 90s, my cousin had a Super Wild Card, an awesome device that you put into the cartridge slot of your SNES that allowed it to play games off 3.5" floppy disks. Every time I go over to their apartment I would play all day long.

Before I modded my Xbox 360 with an RGH3 I was looking briefly at optical drive emulators that allow you to use your own discs and backups. That kind of sounds functionally similar
