What's this obsession with Shakespeare ?
The language he used in his plays was written the way they were was so all the different English languages/dialects could understand it. So he was key in developing the English language.

The most common cut off I'm seeing for Gen Z is 2012, so by that metric they're at least 13 years old. I don't know about school curricula these days, but I'd say all but the youngest 2-3 years have had a decent chance of having Shakespeare as a school assignment.
I remember when the same was said about millenials except the comparison was between Ronald Mcdonald and Jesus/George Washington.
