Licensing and IDs used to be done in every county in KY. Starting in 2021, we moved everything to the regional offices to where 1 office now supports around 5 counties. It was a day long process during the lockdown. I basically had to take a day off from work to get my REAL ID during the lockdown. I know it's gotten better, but it was joked as being a REAL pain in the ass when they first opened up.

Not terribly related but Washington state's DMV is also fucked. Many offices only offer RealID by appointment and appointments are booked out two months ahead of time. I managed to get one only after driving an hour and a half out to bumfuck nowhere and waiting 3 hours for the 15 minute process. Fuck this shit. The office closest to me had a line across the street at 8AM on a weekday. How are we already a kakistocracy?

As a vet it was faster to get an id from the damn VA then the DMV.
