Unfortunately for them, that protester happened to be William Gude, the founder of filmthepolicela.com.

William G is the GOAT. An insomniac that goes outside at night in the LAPD Hollywood Division and films them making questionable stops. He also goes to the station and films the front desk person sleeping. Goes to the parking lot and takes pictures of the personal vehicles with illegal tint and missing license plates (same stuff the police use to stop people).

He then files complaints. Lots of them.

His son was murdered and the LAPD botched the investigation. William G found shell casings they missed.

I have personally sent him cash to pay for scooters, snacks, etc

This is both inspiring and terribly terribly sad.

Something about this in no way reminds me of Russian invaders looting peoples homes in Ukraine.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

This is a clear violation of that person’s rights provided to them by the 4th amendment. I hope he follows through with a lawsuit with the help of the Institute for Justice or ACLU.

I guess it depends on the court whether the Constitution applies.

Ahhh yes, nothing like American Freedom™ (disclaimer: may/may not contain freedom depending on state, court, race, gender, sexuality, et al)

They don't want to get hit with drinks, so they illegally search and seize. Sounds like how you get more violence.

They’re just thirsty and lazy and unafraid of the people outnumbering the hell out of them.

They were full in a tied up grocery bag not even in his hands. It's cut and dry unlawful seizure.

Stealing the drinks to get the dna off of the rim.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If they wanted to drink some DNA they shoulda just sucked the dude off.

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

That’s what half of the blank profiles on Grindr are. On duty cops looking to suck or be sucked.

I think he said it was his drinks? Not 100% sure.

[–] Dearth@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Looks like a convenient store plastic bag of drinks

Mirror? Maybe a site not run by a nazi?
