It finally happened! My first ring of death!

I thank my family, my agent, and my parents, this achievement would not have been possible without them.

My first ring of death!

😮 And with Tabac no less!

[-] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 year ago

Yup, only took me 1174 SOTDs 😄

[-] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 year ago

You must have more soaps than me!

[-] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 1 points 1 year ago

If you are a reasonable person, that statement is likely true

My first ring of death!

Woah!

And ... how convenient that you have used a "14" on the 14th! I too have noticed this harmonic convergence, and plan to use two 14s today :)

[-] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 year ago

You give me too much credit 😅 The auspicious convergence flew entirely under my radar.

But as chance would have it, I'm going to use this 14 twice today😄

The auspicious convergence flew entirely under my radar.

I admit that I was looking for an excuse to use my 14s again.

  • Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Karve CB SB D
  • Blade: UK Tech Statum
  • Lather: Barrister And Mann - Adagi - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister And Mann - Adagi - Aftershave

Great shave today. Menthol strong enough to make my eyes water just a bit, perfect start to the day.

I've been wanting to correct you for quite some time, so here it goes: isn't it "Adagio"?

Yes it’s spelled Adagio. Thank you! why wait so long? Don’t be shy. It’s been more than half a tub and I had no idea.

[-] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 1 points 1 year ago

I sort of got a kick out of it every time I saw it, so maybe I shouldn't have told you!

  • Brush: Wald Stratos Goldvein 29mm A1 Fan

  • Razor: Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple Gen 1

  • Lather: Saponificio Varesino - Desert Vetiver - Soap

  • Post Shave: Saponificio Varesino - Desert Vetiver - Aftershave

  • Post Shave: Thayers - Lemon - Toner

  • Fragrance: Hermès - Terre D'Hermès Eau Intense Vetiver - EdP

  • Talc: Pinaud Clubman

It's the 14th and that calls for using a Fili 14 (and a Frio 14). I am so fortunate to have found an excellent Gen 1 Fili 14. It shaves so well that I compare all my other straight razors to it.

Desert Vetiver is awesome. Great shave today.

Nov 14, 2023 - Talent Tuesday: Riviera

  • Brush: Zenith Cobalt Blue 28mm Boar Knot (505BC SE)
  • Razor: Chiseled Face Legacy (Aluminum)
  • Blade: Gillette Nacet [8]
  • Lather: Talent Soap Factory - Riviera - Soap (Vegan)
  • Post Shave: Gentleman’s Nod - Calabria - Aftershave
  • Fragrance: Noble Otter - Monarch - Eau de Parfum

Returning to my first AA Raw Hoggin' brush after a while of using badgers and synthetics was a really nice surprise. The knot has developed so well, it really has a better face feel than some of the badgers.

Riviera is a beautiful scent built around neroli. Both it and Calabria have that care-free, Mediterranean coastal town vibe that I needed so desperately this morning. We've had nothing but rain for weeks now.

Monarch layered on the neroli and orange notes with its unique powdery blend of scents.

Didn't cross my mind :)

I didn't know that Osma was seasonal - TIL!

  • Razor: River Razor 14 8/8" Full Hollow
  • Lather: Noble Otter - Monarch - Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - Monarch - Aftershave

I took a French razor to a French market. Seems like the right fit. Lovely shave.

Das Moos ist los!

  • Brush: Zenith B21 (XL chrome-plated copper handle, 28 mm knot with 50 mm loft)
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur 14 (8/8", extra hollow ground, stainless steel)
  • Lather: Sir Irisch Moos
  • Aftershave: Sir Irisch Moos
  • Fragrance: Sir Irisch Moos

I was always worried about using up too much of my precious uNoBtAiNiUm Irisch Moos, but since u/J33pGuy13's group buy I have a shiny backup stick: Das Moos ist los! Aaaand, I smell glorious.

Difficult to beat a 14 and SIM shave! 😊

I'm not sure which one was more of a star -- Varen or LLP. Both were spectacular. Mutton base++

SOTD 14.11.2023

  • Prep: head wash
  • Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
  • Blade: GEM PTFE
  • Brush: AP Shave Co. 30 mm Tuxedo Fan w/ black & clear handle
  • Lather: Declaration Grooming - Unscented
  • Post Shave: Thayer's Aloe Vera toner; Stirling Glacial Spearmint ASB

The odd occurrence of wetshaving my head: a 2 pass shave, but only WTG. I had lots of stubbly hair to remove, but I still wanted to take care with the MMOC with a fresh blade.

However, I really like shaving my head with SE razors. They seem to be very intuitive for the bumpy terrain IMHO and they're often better suited simply by design (closed blade tabs, a certain foolproof cutting angle). Some blood was drawn due to my skin currently having breakouts almost as bad as during puberty; but no significant irritation otherwise.

I really like rocking my bald look again as it gives me some much needed confidence back! Btw, I was able to negotiate a day of trial work for this Saturday. Early shift, but I sure hope it'll be worth it!
