If only quotes, evidence, and objective reporting had any hope of getting through to his supporters...

[-] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 32 points 1 year ago

It's almost impossible to reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

They would never have become his supporters in the first place if that were the case.

A very good point

There's a big intersection between conservatives and people who find it very important to support the military. You don't necessarily have to get them to engage with an argument so much as associate him with something they don't like.

MAGoos. "I love Trump because he's not a politician; he says exactly what he means."

And yet people will still vote for him to "oWn ThE LiBs" Republicans propaganda is really good at getting people to vote against their own self interests

[-] EatYouWell@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Thank their decades long war on education for that.

[-] rhythmisaprancer@kbin.social 33 points 1 year ago

Judging by what I hear from the Republican-voting folks around me, unless this airs on Newsmax or OAN (etc) the people who need to see it, won't.

[-] EatYouWell@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago

It's not like this would change their position anyways. The man has admitted, on record, to raping women, barging into children's changing rooms, and wanting to fuck his daughter.

Anyone who still supports him is just flat out a bad person.

I agree mostly. Part of what I meant was that those networks will never sit such material, so it won't get to the viewers, but if they did for some reason, some viewers may believe it because it came from a trusted source. But it will likely never sit on those networks, those viewers will never see it, and as you say, they will continue to behave poorly.

He didn't mean it, multiple times.

Over the course of months, generally, and personally.

*years, publicly

Anyone over 60 should be barred from office. Both 45 and biden are too old for this shit

[-] Telorand@reddthat.com 8 points 1 year ago

I'd be fine with 65, but I otherwise agree.

Univision, which recently gave Trump airtime, has turned down Biden ads (and of course turned down equal airtime for Biden). Wanna bet this ad won't appear on Fox, OANN, Newsmax, or RSBN? I saw one interview with a MAGAt recently in which she said she gets all her news from Telegram.
