Planning to add one more system as backup/replication at my parents house. Currently I run Truenas Scale at my home.

Hardware specs Truenas 16 GB RAM 2x3TB HDD in mirror i5-6402p

Backup system - Parents home 8GB RAM 2x3TB HDD in mirror Intel pentium 3240

However this new system I want to add, I am planning to install OMV with zfs. Main reason I want to add OMV is the flexibility of docker. Truenas is great for R stack and nextcloud and stuff. I want to run some services and custom images related to software development which are easy to deploy on docker. Also, want to add CasaOS as well for more automated stuff. Is it a good idea? And is it possible to do so with ZFS replication?

Since second system is not that powerful running truenas on it will be difficult.

Rsync is an option but problem is network. I get very low transfer rates between two servers. So ZFS snapshots are relatively small and quick once it is in sync.
