Seriously. Most everybody (subconsciously or not) feels too pressured nowadays, and for a significant portion of the population (primarily conservatives, it seems to me) that comes out in the form of hypocritically judging others ever more harshly for whatever excuse they can find (no matter how irrational). Bullies and their sycophants gonna do what they do even more in order to make themselves feel "superior." It's just their way of coping with the same troubles everyone is having, except they will never admit the truth of that for fear of being seen as "weak." Of course, this modus operandi was instilled in them from childhood, so they've long since forgotten why they do it. Not do they care, because that would require them to be truthful which would make them "vulnerable," and they just can't have that.
