What exactly does this have to do with... technology? Posted by the community's main moderator, funnily enough.

Technology is used to spread racist and unligitimate violence

[–] Dumhuvud@programming.dev 0 points 1 day ago

Guess it should also be posted on !crypto@infosec.pub then, since Twitter uses TLS.

Looks like they got hacked by grok.

[–] paultimate14@lemmy.world 42 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm concerned the right might be trying to paint anyone pursuing the Epstein files as being antisemitic, the same way they portray anyone against Palestinian genocide.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I often wondered this with the extreme pro palestinian anti biden stuff. Is it real folks, is it manipulation of the narrative. I certainly saw the river to the sea with folks with in person protests.

[–] paultimate14@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It's hard to say for sure but I definitely remember seeing a lot of people on various Internet platforms back in October saying that they would refuse to vote for Harris because of Palestine.

Which is a sentiment I can understand. However, it is pretty clear today that Trump has been far worse for Palestine (and the US, and most of the rest of the world). And I thought that was pretty obvious last fall too.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

See that is what im always sorta wondering. Is it real people or is it being manipulated by folks to lower the impact of what they do? I definitely think most of it is real folks but I also feel there are unfriendly forces stoking the flames to get them pushing the extremeness that turns off the middle folk. Whats really bad is before I had a bit of sympathy and would push a bit on the issue but now there are much more local immediate concerns that just take precedence. I will be more concerned with global affairs when people are not being grabbed and renditioned to a foreign gulag over here.

[–] paultimate14@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

I suspect it mostly started as propaganda. Which then became successful and caused genuine believers to repeat it and spread it.

[–] peregrin5@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

i don't take these people seriously. they only EVER bitch about democrats. notice how many protests we had during the election and the amount of psyops targeting democrats and notice how everyone is basically silent now. maybe a few of those people actually exist but it's likely their handlers got them organized to go out and affect the election and they're not needed anymore since the desired outcome was met so the organizers/handlers disappeared.

People who actually care about Palestine with moral consistency, know the uniparty for what it is. In fact, they know post-WW2 America itself for what it is, the primary worldwide genocider. They also know that it wasn't a random change in direction.

And it would have been funny the irony of talking about literally anything else being inorganic in the last election, other than Kamala's manufactured and fake popularity, that is if the world situation wasn't as sad as it is.

But hey, if such coping delusions make you and others feel better, ...

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

this is funny because why even protest in the us. the attitude would be one of completely giving up. This is the us. this is the way its always been since ww2 (not sure the us was better before ww2). Although I sorta think the idea might be to just be always just be able to stay on a moral pedestal. complain knowing nothing will get done considering the expected standards and then yell how its everyone elses fault and not have to put any real effort forth. Alls you need is the lip service and your good.

[–] badmin@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

this is funny because why even protest in the us. the attitude would be one of completely giving up.

What's really really funny is how it's easy to see the applicability of "a proper diagnosis is the first step to a successful treatment" in all contexts, except this one.

Not only are facts ignored/glossed over/danced around to convince people to believe in an ineffective treatment, but everyone must also believe, with a lot of gaslighting if needed, that the blue cancerous cells in the uniparty cancer will somehow produce an amazing cure.

"Nazi Bar" analogies are also somehow appropriate to push everywhere, except the congress, the senate, ...

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago

except its fighting the disease with more disease. peaceful protest is a right that developed since ww2. US citizens complaining on the internet and going to protest then going home and paying their taxes and working for their bosses and oh they have to do that lest they lose the fruits of their priveleged position. You go to a certain point and its impossible not to be a hypocrite by your own definitions.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 39 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Fuck trump with a rusty Buick.

Whoops. Looks like I got "hacked" as well.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

Trump would fuck his daughter and probably diddled her. I wasn't hacked, but I'm reminded of that every time I see his face.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Why on earth would Elmo still be on Twitter.

[–] Apocalypteroid@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oscar the Grouch refuses to switch to BlueSky

[–] onlyhall@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

bluesky is just as bad. They're soon going to require ID to be uploaded to use it. Go with lemmy or mastadon.

Wasn't expecting this to be actually Elmo, instead of Apartheid Lonnie.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

He has pointed out that he can take control of anyone's account. So it definitely could be him doing something he thinks is "funny".

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

who do you think "hacked" it?

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Elon did it because people constantly refer to his stupid ass as elmo.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This just in, Elmo apologizes for antisemitic comments he made while under the influence of Ambien.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Heh. Maybe stop portraying beloved child characters on shithole microblog websites

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It would be cool if Elmo used our shitty federated microblog websites. And taught kids about computer security.

[–] krolden@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

Hi kids! Today were gonna talk about pubkey encryption

[–] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

It's Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodle! Mr. Noodle, can you tell us what the word genocide means?

Mr. Noodle nods "No" and mimes a hostage scene

Thank you Mr. Noodle.
Dorothy wants to ask someone else.
