Hi folks, we're managing a museum where se don't issue tickets to avoid being taxed. But we can accept donations which are not taxable. I was wondering if there was sonlme self hosted tool out there that would help us record the donation and maybe even allow us to print a receipt for the visitor so that they can claim tax relief on the donation. If the tool could also help us track the sales of souvenirs, that would be a bonus.

Microsoft Excel. LibreOffice Calc if you hate yourself.

I'm being serious. You don't sound like you need anything fancier than that.

How many of these donations are you processing per minute? Are they mostly cash, credit card, or what? If credit card, your payment processor likely has a category for donations, as well as different types of sale. These days they can usually email a receipt or print on on the payment terminal. I don't see much self-hosted software in this.

They are mostly cash. On average 5-10/day over a 5 hrs day.

Yeah at that rate if you actually should be involving a computer you're best off in a spreadsheet or maaaaybe a database frontend like saltcorn.

Another idea I forgot to share is potentially just creating a worksheet that you can send to a printing company for paper forms. There's tons of printing companies which you can just provide a PDF or even just a logo and some info and get a custom pad of paper printed with that, so it'll have your logo and the fields you need then just rip off each sheet after it's written out.

Otherwise if you really need this info digital, a spreadsheet or something in saltcorn is probably your best bet, but really you want to keep it simple at the scale you described (hence the custom printed pads of paper idea)
