That meeting needs to be recorded and available for public record. Donny boy fancies himself as a Mob Boss and isn't sending the DOJ to get more information! Just how epstein got a sweetheart deal and then "killed himself." (Even if it was suicide, Trump 100% made a deal with him to keep everything a secret in exchange for something... My guess is a pardon for Maxwell.)

You need to look up a man named Bill Barr. He was in Trump's cabinet and he's the guy that had Epstein killed.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 0 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I don't think Trump offered him anything.

Epstein was looking down the barrel of life imprisonment (or close enough) and killed himself, which is a common enough outcome.

I do think it's likely that the administration gave him ample opportunity, though. He tried to kill himself before, they took him off suicide watch soon thereafter, and he was soon found hanged in his cell.

He absolutely offered him something! That plee deal and the whole arrest to death was shady as fuck. When dealing with Trump the dumbest most cartoon villain answer is usually the answer.

The plea deal from 2008? Yes it was shady, but I don't see how that's relevant to my point.

The arrest and death being shady as fuck also aligns with my hypothesis that they gave him the means and opportunity to kill himself as a cover-up, so I'm not sure how that's an argument against it.

Why would they offer him something? Why would he believe that they would follow through? Didn't they know he was suicidal anyway? Why not just push him towards that? Why would he be willing to kill himself for a Maxwell pardon?

I'm not saying it's impossible, just that it isn't the simplest explanation.

Why would they offer him something?

Because his main campaign strategy was centered around bring epstein (and others) to justice. Remember Trump honestly wants to be a Mob Boss. (listen to him glow when talking about old mob movies and criminals.)

Why would he think they would follow through?

They made him an offer he "couldn't refuse." (Trump thinks he's a mob boss!)

Didn't they know he was suicidal anyway?

Just like a yakuza drone becomes suicidal when he enters a room prepared just for him and there's just a short sword on the table?

Why not just push him towards that?

They did.

Why ups he be willing to kill himself for a Maxwell pardon.

One again. Did he have a choice?

All my opinion. But these idiots are not that deep. Trying to get into their heads is a waste of time. It's usually way simpler than you think.

Because his main campaign strategy was centered around bring epstein (and others) to justice. Remember Trump honestly wants to be a Mob Boss. (listen to him glow when talking about old mob movies and criminals.)

But what does the administration get out of it? Especially if he was planning to kill himself anyway, as shown by his previous attempt. This line doesn't rule out my possibility, and mine explains everything while being simpler.

They made him an offer he "couldn't refuse." (Trump thinks he's a mob boss!)

Or he was facing life in prison and didn't want to deal with it, as is very common in US prisons. Solitary confinement also drastically increases the chances of suicide, and we knew he attempted it before. Why introduce the Maxwell pardon narrative? This line doesn't rule out my possibility, and mine explains everything while being simpler.

One again. Did he have a choice?

I don't know if he had a choice, and you don't either. This doesn't rule out my possibility, and mine explains everything while being simpler.

Trying to get into their heads is a waste of time. It's usually way simpler than you think.

I'm advocating for the simple possibility here, and respectfully I'm getting "into their heads" a lot less than you are. We're not even that far apart: I think it's likely that the DoJ put Epstein in a situation where they were pretty sure he'd off himself. That's effectively murder in my book.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Its possible but IMO much more likely he was killed.

Every minute he was alive was a minute he could start singing.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

There's little moral difference between killing someone outright and giving them the means when you know they'll do it themselves; I just think it's more likely that they did the latter for cover-up purposes.

"Keep your mouth shut and you'll get a pardon when this all dies down. Otherwise, there will be 3 minutes missing from the camera footage one day."

[–] Saleh@feddit.org 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Given that Maxwell is still alive, i am pretty sure she has a dead-mans trigger somewhere.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago

She had plenty of time for one.

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 18 points 4 days ago (2 children)

So this is to ask how many time Trump appears in the Epstein files? May be an offer of pardon or a chance to be eliminated?

[–] randompasta@lemmy.today 12 points 4 days ago

Testify and say only democrat names and we'll let you like.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

Justice should already have the answer to the first question. They tasked more than 1,000 FBI agents and analysts to go through 100,000 separate documents. This effort produced a single Excel spreadsheet that tabulates and cross references every mention of Donald Trump in the file set.

Of course, I don't think they were so careful marking the personal identifying information of the Epstein victims for redaction. Or the graphic depictions of child sexual abuse. Allegedly none of these files have content warnings on the outside. So if anyone is opening them up it's pure Russian roulette whether they're hit in the eyes with CSAM or not.

She is going to magically fall out of a window while being interrogated in a basement.

[–] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago

Entire transcript of said meeting: "Cover for us or join Epstein. See you at the testimony."

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

President pedo rape sends a representative to the pedo rape trafficker and anything good is going to come out of it?

Why that's just enough to make an entire generation cynical as fuck.

I think there’s a non zero chance it’s AI slop

[–] tylerkdurdan@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

trump built his political career by pushing conspiracy theories (birther etc.) We are now at the Frankensteins monster stage where the monster runs amok

[–] Zier@fedia.io 5 points 4 days ago

He will pardon her, and she will magically disappear.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

She's not gonna say one word that will jeopardize her life. Ghislaine learned how to play nice when Epstein died in a 'secure' jail.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Step 1: Delete damning evidence
Step 2: Create exculpatory evidence
Step 3: MAGA rejoice

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago

Wait. How come she's still alive?

I'll bet it becomes an interrogation to see if she's a rat.
