I have a wall mounted 15u rack like this one linked. It’s great for the space I have as I don’t have room for a full floor rack.

I currently have an 8-bay QNAP NAS sitting on top of it, but would really like to move the NAS into the rack and to something like FreeNAS or UnRaid.

The issue I’m having is finding something that fits the short depth with at least 8 3.5” bays (more is fine). I have 4u (possibly 5u) to fit something.

Anyone know of a short depth case that would fit in 4-5u, take a decent board and memory (ITX is OK), and has at least 8 3.5” bays (preferably hot swappable bays but I’d consider internal if that’s the only option)?

Does this unicorn exist? Or is it just too far outside the laws of physics to fit all that into the package I need?

Thanks in advance.

it's unlikely you'll find something to fit that rack.

They're designed for networking equipment - not PC hardware and outside of some 1RU units, there's very little that's going to find into 17".

Some-one posted looking for a 16" deep case yesterday (factoring in power cables etc that's about as deep as the case could be). There might have been suitable response in there.
