We can only speculate as to why the Trump administration wants to end the missions. But considering president Donald Trump's staunch climate change denial and his administration's efforts to deal the agency's science directorate a potentially existential blow, it's not difficult to speculate.

At least President Camacho made the smartest man in charge of shit.

This is like the sad, bad ending, version of Idiocracy

[–] Gaywallet@beehaw.org 18 points 1 month ago

The difference is that Camacho is a himbo, our current president is more of a bridge troll

Just for reference:

The Mussolini government was the longest-lasting government in the history of Italy. The Cabinet administered the country from 31 October 1922 to 25 July 1943, for a total of 7,572 days, or 20 years, 8 months and 25 days.

When people talk about fascism, they usually mention his most famous apprentice, but Benito is the real deal. He wrote the book. If you follow this path, you can expect to find the bloodbath in a few decades. Realistically though, there’s also a safer way out when the king is too sick to continue, but that could still take too long.

Okay, see no evil, hear no evil, sure.

I would hope that one of the scientists involved "accidentally" gives away the access codes to someone who locks out the US behind them.

A 2023 review by NASA concluded that the data they'd been providing had been "of exceptionally high quality."

Could also "accidentally" leak all the data, in case there are no non-US backups.
