You're so lucky, 30-40 is perfect summer weather. I'm dying to the cold in this 14 degree weather.
Crazy to see the differences in preferred temp range lol, 30c has me dying and I wet my hair with cold water every couple of hours whenever it's this hot. My perfect summer temps are 15-20c at most. Anything more is uncomfortable. 0-5c is basically t-shirt weather after the long winter of -20c -40c that lasts from mid October-ish - March. Every year in March, the temps will warm up and everyone thinks Spring is coming, but we always get one last cold snap of -20c -30c for at least a few days.
I've even experienced -50c temps (for only a few days every few years TBH) and that is not fun. Your eyelashes try to freeze shut whenever you blink, your nose freezes up and taking a breath is quite unpleasant on the lungs. Would not recommend. It's a good reminder of your mortality, being stuck outside in that weather would quickly become a death sentence even if you were dressed properly.
I was in the only open liftline at Sunshine one morning where the temperature they put on the board was -54. It was actually a nice day for skiing because they had the gondola closed and the hill to ourselves as we were staying in the lodge.
I am, meanwhile, perfectly happy in 14 C. Comfy. Not too hot, not too cold. And I hate being close to fainting in 25+ xD

Come on, don't be that Australian doing this to people that live where it snows about what hot* feels like to them. You make the rest of us look like cunts. Their houses aren't designed for hot temperatures, and their aircon is weak or non-existent.
Also ew, no, 30+ isn't "perfect" anyway, especially when you have chronic health issues like myself. I was out in 16°C today walking my dog and it was gorgeous, toughen up!
All I did was say they're lucky and how I'm not fairing in my temperature. I didn't do the whole 'You call that hot huh?, i'll show you hot!" shit. So no, I won't stop making light conversation about the weather.

- It's the same thing, changing the words doesn't matter. They aren't "lucky" when people are literally dropping dead from the heat. People aren't "lucky" from suffering the effects of climate change. Grow. Up.
- I'm on the same continent so I'm allowed to yuck your yum. It's only shitty when you, an Australian, do it to folks in places where it gets proper cold. They're buildings are designed for -10°C and lower, not 30°C and higher.

I very much doubt you have zero heating, that's illegal under the housing/tenancy code of every single state where it gets that cold. Otherwise I dunno, get a better landlord or go to your state's housing tribunal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can head to the library if I get truly desperate, thankfully! It’s mostly annoying because it throws a wrench into any errands I need to do, if I don’t want to drown in sweat while doing them.
