Those numbers seem.. all somewhat tiny?

Like, the smallest dedicated news channel in Germany has 2.4 million daily viewers for comparison. Germany does have 80 million citizens instead of 68 million like the UK but that can't be the reason.

That's because broadcast news is dead everywhere and most people watch stuff like the BBC online through their iPlayer. Compare the internet traffic of viewers and we would have a better picture of who was actually watching outside of the octogenarians.
