I'm fine with reboots; I only ask that you make them good. If you reboot something for the sake of rebooting it we will know and call you out on it. And most of them are not good, that's the problem.

...I don’t have a problem with people remaking or rebooting things. I mean, everybody goes to Broadway to see the same couple plays every few years. It’s such a dumb, shallow argument to say Hollywood has no new ideas just because they’re rebooting things.
He seems like a really chill dude, and I'm happy he keeps getting work. The bulk of the article was a good read, despite the title being a little click bait from one question.
I understand the monetization of our member-berries can throttle the space where new ideas can have a better chance to come through, but IMO audiences [myself included] and the industry are equally to blame. If more and more crap reboots happen, hopefully this cannibalizing system will eventually crash and more original ideas will be attempted.
If a movie is crap it's crap whether or not it's a reboot. It's a weird hypocrisy in my head that I hate the latest Jurassic Park turds but really really hope this Alien movie is gonna be good.
really really hope this Alien movie is gonna be good.
It's a TV series, made by the same guy who adapted the world built in Fargo into several seasons of a TV series, each of them very good.
Not like the entire history of media has really differed in that regard, either. Romeo and Juliet was just a British reboot of Pyramus and Thisbe. That, and the volume of writing that just retreads other stories and mythology that came before. How many works are just riffing on Journey to the West, or stories from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, for example?
Let's see just what he thinks when they reboot Deadwood
Fucking cock suckers.
I’m perfectly calm Dude. Calmer than you are.
