Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.
Rules…
- Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
- Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
- Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
- No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
- New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
I hate my face without glasses, I feel like they help break up my masc face shape
I have a handful of dollar store glasses I popped the lenses out from. I don't need glasses but these help me look.
Look cute. 😉
I think glasses on girls are HOT. Love them! And I like mine on me
I only got my first pair less than a year ago. I probably should’ve had them for awhile. They took a bit to get used to, but I like them. Since I didn’t get them until I was in my thirties I haven’t considered contacts or lasik or anything else.
My girlfriend, who is smol, wears glasses with disproportionately large frames. They're adorable and they help her see, so I'm a fan.
I have perfect vision, which is good, but maybe someday I'll have to wear reading glasses, and to be honest, I'm looking forward to it? I think I'd like how I'd look in glasses haha.
I have reading glasses, my wife says I look smart and sexy in them, but when I look up at her from my book all I see is a fuzzy blob so I can't return the compliment honestly.
I've written glasses since elementary school I think. Maybe early middle? So long my memory bleeds backwards and makes me feel I've always had them.
I like them. They let me see. It removes people from around me that have strong opinions on how sexy a medical device does or does not make me.
I love Mina Le but hadn't watched that video yet - thanks for linking it!
I'm very nearsighted - in contacts I'm -8.0 on the right and -8.5 on the left. I'm not sure what that equates to in glasses. And while I hate the way I look in glasses, my eyes are dry and I can't wear contacts all the time like I used to. So most of the time I'm wearing glasses. Without them I really can't function, so I'm grateful for them, but I also hate that they get oily from my eyelashes and leave little divots on the sides of my nose. And because my prescription is so strong it flattens out my depth perception, so there are some activities that I can't safely do unless I'm wearing my contacts - for example, hiking.
I feel pretty in contacts, even without makeup. I feel very plain Jane mousey in glasses. They hide my eyes, which are one of my best features.
Generally I think most people are more attractive without glasses vs with, but most of us eventually end up needing them.
I wear them but often wonder what I’d look like without glasses, like if I got Lasik surgery. But the idea of Lasik makes me nervous, plus I’m so comfortable wearing glasses for most of my life anyway. The only real issue I’ve run into is with any kind of swimming - I have to wear prescription googles. I don’t swim often though. Maybe someday I’ll go for it lol
On others, generally I don’t find them attractive or unattractive. I’d say I’m neutral on glasses, if only slightly leaning towards “nerdy” vibes. I guess there’s other features I’m mostly looking at. Well - I suppose it matters if the certain frames fit your face shape. My face is roundish so I wouldn’t wear round frames, for example.
I'm also round-faced. I think i look best in a cat-eye.
One advantage of being perceived-Asian is that glasses have always looked good on us in popular culture.
SO yes, I need glasses, and I actually like wearing them.
I need to schedule an eye test... I've been lucky up until now in that the short sightedness in one eye is kind of balanced out by the long sightedness of the other but I'm starting to have more issues seeing when driving at night because of all the super bright headlights.
I think years ago I would have been really bothered by glasses and would have been seeking out laser or only using contacts but I don't think I would have an issue these days and might even prefer them.
I wear glasses because I'm near sighted and my eyes are too dry for contact lenses. I hate them because they're constantly dirty, or getting rained on, or getting lost. I like the way plastic frames look, but I can't wear them because they make my face sweat. I do find them attractive on other people, particularly men. But I wouldn't wish them on anyone.
