Caught up on Alien: Earth. This series is fantastic and does a great job paying homage to the original Alien aesthetic without being campy.

I wish they would quit it with the super long shots. They're taking half hour episodes and making them 50 minutes by extending shots long after their purpose has been served. When they brought everything back to the private island? That sequence was long, boring shots that only served to remind us of the events of the last episode.

It is a much better Alien than most of the Alien movies though. I just worry that since there's no mention of hybrid synths or Prodigy in the established media they've already spoiled the ending.

Also the eyeball squid totally gets the Zuckerberg guy. Calling it now.

Agreed, I love the pseudo-retrofuturism that they include to make it feel like the world of the original Alien films was valid. It really sits nicely as a Canon part of the Alien universe. I'm excited to see where it goes.

I'm waiting for it to finish then I'm gonna binge it. Really looking forward to it

Peacemaker season 2, Superman 2025, Thunderbolts.

Superman was so much fun. Peacemaker season 2 is going down a strange route, but it's fun. Gunn knows what he's doing

Thunderbolts made me cry. It was good.

Saw Superman in the theater. It was good, and I enjoyed it, but there was a little too little Superman, and a little too much everyone else. Not gonna lie though, the dog stole the movie for me!

Finished Landman on Paramount + with Billy Bob Thornton. It’s a really engaging series, and I’m eagerly awaiting season 2 that starts in November. I liked almost all of Yellowstone (it kinda went off the rails in the last season), and Landman is from the same creator - Taylor Sheridan.

I watched Captain Phillips and fucking loved it. Tom Hanks was incredible particularly in the final scene, jaw dropping performance. Sadly googled and the real Captain Phillips appears to have been a twat but still love the film

The Watcher, it was great with many known actors. I liked every episode but the last.

I finished JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. I'm not much of an anime fan outside of some old classics, but this series was pretty alright. It's certainly bizarre at times. Hard to pick a favourite season, but I like how they handled the different "timelines" between each of them.
