RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I don’t even know if this has an actual solution but this is the best I’ve managed.

Challenge (with every letter of the alphabet, once), use all the tiles making complete words.

Can obvs do scrabble style like this.

How’s everyone’s week so far?

I've found a solution but I'd probably argue that it's borderline illegal in a game of scrabble.

!Replace vid with quid, wax with vaw, replace monks with mosk and add jynx to copyrightable!<

Sorry if spoiler tags were wrong

EDIT: Apparently this solution is legal under SOWPODS!

I learned new words! Thanks ☺️

Nice one! I assume sowpods is Scrabble rules.

Yeah apparently it's the rules for tournament scrabble? Thanks for the puzzle! Ive been trying to solve it from scratch all day

Pleasure (it was my lad’s idea). I spent hours on it - it’s a good one. Wonder how many solutions there are now.

Must’ve been very satisfying to solve!

Potentially helpful: Qi is in the scrabble dictionary, though v and d then have to be dealt with.

Sometimes you can cure that with penicillin.

I think qat may also be an acceptable word

[–] slingstone@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

So you're saying it's a perfectly cromulent word?

[–] moody 6 points 4 days ago

It embiggens our vocabulary

I thought that was bananagrams for a sec

Edit: turns out yes it is

If you accept common parlance, you could swap out vid with quid, but then you lose out on J…

Why don’t your letters have score numbers?

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

They're not Scrabble tiles, they're from another game.

One of my favorite games to play with my friends. We each have a set so whichever house we visit we can play it.
