Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I would ask for a high quality version of this cheap prom dress I have, with cute matching black kitten heels

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

That's lovely.

this is so cute and cozy ☺️

I'm planning my next knitting project, a black formal dress, made from fingering weight yarn. Details still being decided. I guess I'm going to save 18 months of work. Thanks fairy!

My predecessor accumulated a lot of men's suits over the years. So they're just in my closet taking up space, never to be worn. I wouldn't be at all opposed to getting them magically tailored to suit me, if that's an option. Or magically taken away since I lack the spoons to do it myself.

GreenDrop will come to your door to pick up donations, just throwing that out there! :)

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But actual solutions to my problems lack the fanciful whimsy I'm looking for.

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 4 points 2 weeks ago

Ah, this is one of the ongoing sorrows of life :/

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Please post updates on your knitting project. I can't get that kind of yarn near me, so I can't imagine how much it will cost, but it sounds amazing.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

Probably $100-150 is my guess. I'm going to use relatively inexpensive commercial yarn because I have to buy a ton of it.

Its still in the early planning stage. Need to finish my current projects before I start.

I'd go for something like these.

Outfit 1
Outfit 2
Outfit 3
Outfit 4
Outfit 5

Which one? It would depend. If this is a typical fairy tale, one of the first two because a sword will likely come in handy. Otherwise any of the latter three.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Is the sword a critical part of the outfit?

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It is if I'm going in a typical fairy tale situation. I'd need to defend myself from whatever the Big Baddie is, after all!

But no, seriously, the swords aren't necessary for the first two. I just picked those pictures because I liked them. 🤭

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think my version of the fashion sword would be a cup hilt rapier, and whatever outfit would go with that. My favorite is outfit 1.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 3 points 2 weeks ago

#1 looks like a character I'd play in an RPG.

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 3 points 2 weeks ago

These are all gorgeous! The headdress in #3 puts that one at the top of the list for me personally :)

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

#3 looks so regal.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago

This is perfect. I need something like this.

The pockets are the most important detail.

[–] QueenMidna@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago

Since I think this would be the only thing that fits me: (on the left)

Outfit I'd pick (on the left)

[–] ada@piefed.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'd probably ask her to talk to Kaity, because I've got no idea

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

OK but now I have to know what @supakaity@piefed.blahaj.zone would say 😆

[–] supakaity@piefed.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I'm just saying fairy godmother, if you think you could do something like this, it'd look pretty good on Ada.

Fairy dress

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 weeks ago

omg that's amazing!!

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 2 points 2 weeks ago

Good lord that's beautiful! 🦋🤎

[–] Vanth@reddthat.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

I would ask her for something in a soft, jeweled red tone "skipping big social event to stay home with two friends and a movie instead" type pajamas.

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

my troll answer would be

this

but if being earnest, I would probably pick a style that would maximize the usefulness of the magic - we would have to change my ribcage and other bones to make it look good, so probably something that exposes the shoulders and back, even a simple LBD would work for me

like these

or for a more formal context,

a Victorian dress

I love how ornate outfit 4 is, just wow 🤩

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Outfit 4 is more openly ornate, but if you dig deeper into 3, you'll see some amazing stuff too. Those are mostly warring states-era Hanfu and ... YOWZA did the rich girls dress well in those times!

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

yes, outfit 3's colors are also so beautiful - honestly they are all wonderful, it would be hard to choose

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sorry. I put the reply into the wrong place. I've repeated it in the main thread.

Me = idiot.

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

I'm so glad you did, it meant I got to see it first 😁

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

1st one of the 2nd drop-down is cunty af 🤩

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

haha, I think I'm missing the context on how it's cunty (if anything I would think the 2nd dress of the second drop down is more "cunty"), but I do think it's a cute dress - I would absolutely wear that dress

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Dark and simple. I've always been one for the raw elegance of simplicity.
