Y'all are wrong, .50 bmg is the best home defense caliber.

[-] seahorse@midwest.social 5 points 11 months ago

I own a musket for home defense

As the founding fathers intended. Tallyho, lads!

Suppressed subsonic .300blk is what I would say if I could get a suppressor in any reasonable amount of time.

[-] saplyng@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago

A 3d printer could get you one fairly quickly, but the ATF also wants their money if you do

[-] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I'm okay with spending some money. I'm not okay with the wait time being measured in years.

[-] seahorse@midwest.social 1 points 11 months ago

I e-filed and it took 3 months. I realize this is shorter than average, but usually the only applications that take over a year or close to it are paper applications.

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

I e-filed for the SBR thing when they made my legally purchased brace pistol illegal a year ago. The status of my application hasn't changed in an entire year.

[-] seahorse@midwest.social 2 points 8 months ago

Really?? Mine got approved in 30 days

[-] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Yup! I check every 3 months or so, and it's still in the pending application section. I just checked again after posting that, and it's still pending! Do you know if there's a way to contact them?

[-] seahorse@midwest.social 2 points 8 months ago

There should be a number you can call. Did you e-file?

Oh, interesting... I've only heard the horror stories of people waiting outrageously long times.

[-] Marxist_Bear@midwest.social 4 points 11 months ago

.45 ACP is the only thing you need to know about pistols

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Why not a bunch of ball bearings launched by a shaped charge conveniently setup behind the front and back door using a tripwire?

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

All right, which of you kids needs a talkin' to?

[-] _lilith@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago
