New NBN plans were released over the weekend... We can finally get 2Gbps plans.

You know what sucks? I had a Facebook memory from 10 years ago pop up just recently. It was lamenting the fact that NZ had just announced 2Gbps plans while we had just decided to cancel a FTTP roll out in preference to a jumbled mix of crap. I said "This decision has set us back 10 years".

I was pretty much bang on to the day. How sad.

Also, my house has FTTP so can get 2000/500. My work is HFC so maxes out at 1000/100. RIP to people still on FTTN.

That 2000 down 500 up ain't bad, Aussie uploaded speeds makes me sad however, I have 500 down and only 50 up currently. And stuck on HFC so don't see it getting any better ATM, hell I honestly would prefer to have 500up and only 50 down for my needs ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm quite happy with 500/200 at home. I'd love that at work but le sigh... HFC....

I originally looked at getting EE but lololooloollllll those prices are some bullshit. Its like they see a business wanting a decent internet connection and immediately assume its mission critical and therefore you're happy to be shafted for the privilige. Its like... mate... mmmatte.... we're a small business and I just like doing fun online projects. It doesn't suddenly mean I've got a flock of desk jockeys pumping out emails and video chatting with clients. I could legit run the place from a 56k modem if I had to. I just want the zoomies. Dont pump up the price with promises of SLAs and priority customer support or whatever. Just connect me to the fat pipe for cheap and if it stops working I'll use a backup connection until its back.

Also if you hook up EE you wont get back on the NBN so yeah... nah.
