What's Russia's play here. What do they have to gain by drawing NATO forces into the fight?

They’re calling bullshit. Russia can violate NATO airspace and we won’t do shit. They know that no one in NATO wants an all out war, so they keep pushing it as a power move

But what does that gain them? Eventually it will lead to an incident and then NATO will be in the war - how does that help Russia?
