Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Better to be on that list than the Epstein list.

He knows the best way to cover up a fuck-up is to create a bigger fuck-up, or so many fuck-ups that you can't keep track.

The Gish Gallop.

Create an unending stream of nonsense. Your opposition can't reply to all the lies, and if they do, just create more lies.

Never deal with the actual issues.

Uh... Isn''t the goal to stop fascism?

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Are you implying that a ton of fascists in charge are not on that list? We can have both options.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No, I'm implying that A: They're not going to release the unredacted files, among other things because diddling kids is bipartisan and B: Even if they do, the Epstein files are not an anti-fascist silver bullet. MAGA won't abandon Trump as long as a single brown person is still alive in America.

[–] Alwaysnownevernotme@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Feel free to use your anti fascist silver bullet king.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 1 points 2 days ago

There isn't one, that's the whole point. You'll need to actually resist fascism if you want to stop fascism.

Flag 'em back for being Nazis?

I've been saving screenshots of anybody on my Facebook or LinkedIn who posts shit supporting Kirk. some of it is harmless and probably just misinformed, some of it.. eh, they should know better. not doing anything with it at the moment, just saving it to have it.

good to know the annoying semi incompetent guy at work I don't really like loves to support Kirk shit on LinkedIn. not sure why you'd do that, but now I know to never go out of my way to help him, and will maybe throw in some shit to make his life more difficult when he's not doing his fucking job. oops I didn't get to that request yet, had higher priority stuff.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Obvs. I guess they didn't think this through

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh?

Start with Nick Fuentes.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's going to be interesting to watch them try to thread that needle.

On one hand, Kirk was one of Trump's favorites and was being spoken of as a possible Presidential candidate. On the other, going after violent White Supremist leaders isn't the look they'd like going into the mid-terms.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Well with the election board-packing and the gerrymandering in full swing (and unreported) then it's all going to plan innit.

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh, so they DO know the word “consequences”?

[–] mp3@lemmy.ca 21 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Freedom of speech to cancel culture speedrunning.

This is the consequence of republicans never having had to face the consequences of their own bullshit.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

This whole thing is just a gigantic bowl of wrong.
