Sarah McBride be like, "But I chose to vote yes because I believe there must be no mistake that I condemn violence in this moment, and that is what the heart of this resolution is about. We could debate language, but at its core, it was a statement about political violence.”

Voting yes isn't a stand against political violence. It's about deifying a very bad man with extremely harmful rhetoric. Why not make a national day of mourning for all the kids killed in shootings?

That right, because Dems don't really care about them either. They just want to be re-elected and make their friends some money.

Sarah is just as bad as everyone else if she can't even protect her own rights. I guess her status in life will protect her? Yeah, totally ignore those slain Democrats that no one talks about, Sarah.

Pathetic. Have some fucking courage, ya coward.

This dude is not MLK, capitulating will only make the demands stupider.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 7 points 1 day ago

they think appeasement will save the some of the Dems from retribution, they are doing it because thier donors are pressuring them to do it.

Yes let's do that ..... by stop talking about him, forget him entirely and focus all our attention on the fascists still around.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Maybe that’s the point. Maybe I’m overly optimistic, but this could be “sure, whatever, let’s move on with life”. The thing is Kirk is just another distraction. Of course he was a vile human ring and good riddance, but do you really want to die on this hill? Let’s die on the hill of restoring Medicaid, for example

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 11 hours ago

Fuckin rights, I’m way over hearing about that little cunt

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

This is pretty much what I did until a few weeks ago.

Totally forgot about the guy. His existence in my life peaked with the website that let you guess if his face was the correct size or not.

[–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

Yep me too. Just another loud NPC in the village square, spouting about side quests that would negatively affect my build if I started them.

Utter waste of protein. His carbon is being put to far better use now.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

for a while he was a background right wing talking head that appears on reddit posts from time to time along with the other grifters.

[–] bigfondue@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

The right are doing their damnedest to whitewash his image and turn him into some virtuous victim. If everyone else stops talking about him, then the right will have won the narrative war.

[–] pinheadednightmare@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Are we still talking about him? Isn’t it about time we just moved on from that?

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 11 hours ago

I even blocked keywords on lemmy from showing up but this one slipped through. Holy shit I’m so over hearing about that little tool

Every Dem is a POS.

Release the Trump/Epstein files

one of our most influential enem[ies]

Reactionaries have been working overtime to exaggerate and inflate Kirk's importance and influence. It's weird so many on the left are helping them with that project.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're overreacting because they can't allow this to become normal otherwise they're at risk of having it done to them. It's fine when it's children because they're not children. It's fine when it's black people because they're not black. But it's definitely not fine when it's white men with money who spew hatred and try to take away your rights because that describes them perfectly.

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 day ago

Hot take, but let’s kill less kids and more rich white men.

[–] Bbbbbbbbbbb@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The problem is that republicans across the country are holding vigils, mass funerals, trying to rename highways, putting up memorials on every state campus, holding days of national remembrance, and Im sure more. Ive been massively vocal about the joy of his death since the first minute I e heard about it as well as trying to fight back against his "he was just a debator" image being spread around. I do not want to continue to talk about him, but the more the right loses their minds over him the more I need to fight back against his false persona.

[–] chosensilence@pawb.social 6 points 1 day ago

i am constantly telling people he was a white supremacist fascist and a mere difference of opinion this was not. they simply don't care. they don't see it as justifiable regardless. we're fucking cooked lol. it's over, man. nobody believes in taking out nazis anymore. nobody sees the real imminent danger and threat of fascism.

[–] jaemo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Time to flood the zone with martyrs I suppose. They should be made afriad to hold their "vigils".

[–] Philote@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

He is being used as the Horst Wessel. It’s in the Nazi playbook.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

are the DNC afraid of reprisal form the right? or thier own seats? or the fact that most of them have megadonors which is likely pressuring them to support charlie kirk or else no funding for thier campaigns.

[–] bigfondue@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Turning Point USA has over 800 chapters on college campuses. He wasn't exactly a nobody.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

They're really gushing over him.

[–] stemy@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, really weird, they shoot themselves in the foot at the worst possible time.

Shit was a like a GWAR concert.

[–] gravitywell@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not enough spray for a gwar concert, kirk looked like if the blood spay thing malfunctions and just leaked all at once.

[–] unabart@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

GWAR must be working on the props as we speak!
