Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I am interested in trying out fake eyelashes and finger nails. One thing i am curious about is, if its possible to reuse lashes or are they similar to nails that you apply once and then have to let them sit until you eventually remove them. I am also very grateful about all kinds of other tips and tricks you might have back up your sleeve. :3

You can re-use fake lashes. There is a special glue to glue them right along your lash line. When you're done with them and take them off you can clean off the old glue, and then use a little bit of glue to hold them in place when storing them.

I rarely use my fake lashes, but they can be fun for a glam look when going to a party 😁

If there are any women in your life who use fake lashes and can show you how to apply them, that can be helpful. Watching youtube tutorials might also help. Some places offer lessons, here in the states I was able to go to a Sephora and get a lesson - this was so helpful because they could color match and find the right cosmetics to use, and then they showed me how to apply it and then had me try it myself. Highly recommend getting a lesson if possible, or asking women to show you how they like to do their makeup. I really enjoy getting ready and doing makeup with other women anyway, it's a nice chance to learn and compare techniques and products, and it's just so fun!

Press-on nails are a good option and can technically be re-used too, btw - but the problem I ran into was that they didn't make sizes large enough for my thumb, for example, and the amount of force it took to flatten the fake nail and glue it to my thumb ended up denting my nailbed, which isn't healthy and takes a long time to recover from. So if you can find the right sizes and find a way to apply them without injuring yourself, I think they can be a nice option!

Other tips and tricks: get a lash curler! Sometimes I can even get away with just using a lash curler and no mascara - it's one of my essential tools.

Also, look into taking care of your nails - removing cuticle and excess skin, filing the nails and shaping them, etc. can all be helpful and make your nails look nice, even without doing your nails or having color.

For more glam looks I sometimes use a lash primer, which conditions the eyelashes and adds more body and surface area for the mascara to adhere to - can really boost your lashes (something between just mascara and using fake eyelashes).

My niece has her fake eyelashes stuck on her bedroom wall for using later. Lol, so yeah some are resuseable.

My wife puts on thick mascara and then uses two tooth picks to dress and separate her lashes. It takes her about 15 minutes to do both eyes. Because its separating and stretching out the lash groups one by one.

Like a group might be two or three lashes globbed together and stroked into what looks like a single solid lash.

She always gets compliments on them, and people ask if theyvare extensions
