I am sure we will find out more about the true horrors behind this concentration camp in a few years and where 1,000 people went. 😰

Indeed. Time makes fools of us all.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We're not the fools if we've been discussing and asking to stop it or working to stop it the entire time.

[–] StraponStratos@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 week ago

You’re a fool if you’re asking fascists to stop.

Why is everyone giving the benefit of the doubt to modern nazis about the subject: Concentration Camps?

Those people are dead or dying. They were killed by American Nazis, until proven otherwise. You don't "lose" 1,000 people in the middle of nowhere swamp from a high security prison. They're either in a pit or they're bodies scattered around the swamp, being eaten by gators and boas. Just like they fucking planned and boasted about.

They'll do it to you, too. Drumpy said he hates his enemies. Zero compassion.

There is a reason I've spent most of this year referring to Trump's secret police as the American Schutzstaffel. I'd say what I think citizens should do to them on sight, but I think it would violate community rules here and likely land me with an all-expenses-paid permanent vacation to one of their other concentration camps.

Ah yes, the American Schutzstaffel, the A.S.S.

Hope they get what's coming to them.

Or the alligators?

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (5 children)

What if they never existed in the first place and the numbers were made up to placate Trump

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

That's kind of a best case scenario in this situation.

Or to boost invoices on per capita contracts.

[–] PriorityMotif@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The private contractor gets about $100/ day per person, so they so have an incentive to make up numbers. $100k / day out of the $250B is a rounding error.

Not for the person pocketing it, it's very common kind of fraud in various repression organs through history.

Stop inventing fantasies that absolve nazis from horrors.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Nazis are horrible but since the 30s they’ve been making numbers up to look good to their superiors.

It’s part of why authoritarian regimes fail.

holy fuck lmao the grift

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 week ago

How did they lose 1000 prisoners in the place that was chosen specifically for the alligators that would eat anyone 'who tried to escape'?

Fucking guess. And no, they didn't try to escape

"Lose" Good chance they died under their wonderfully humane and responsible care.

[–] st3ph3n@midwest.social 7 points 1 week ago

Perhaps they didn't lose them, but they disappeared them.
