a publicity stunt is still activism though. the idea is to force Isreal to attack EU citizens or break the famine.
don't let accusations of virtue signaling ever cast doubt on a move like this. propoganda is the only thing that prevents you from effectively shielding others with your own life.

Frankly, I don't see any big problem with virtue signaling when it's actually a virtue, and you live up to it. If it draws attention to a truly just cause that needs attention, then signal away!

I wouldn't go that far because it is often a justified claim. For example, it's accurately used for things like people who display ostentatious Christian symbols, but who obviously don't follow the teachings of their own professed religious inspiration.

It could be called religious extremism or religious hypocrisy or simply hypocrisy those are well defined word unlike term like virtue signaling and the way conservatives use of the term woke
Those terms describe their actions. Virtue signaling describes their choice of displays.
If you call every term bigots use to shut down discussions stupid, you might as well stop using words entirely.
