I don't know how a GPA would translate from american to the rest if the world.
I'm just glad it's not gpa AND a degree.
Though it's an engineering degree, and I'd be an artificer.
Just looked it up and it seems that GPA is a scale that's linear from 1-4 but everything below 1 is a 0. A is 4, B is 3 and so on.
The conversion from letter grades to percentages can vary though but one example only has a D for 65% which makes B an 83-86% or a GPA of 3.
Failing a class with percentages does count a lot more towards a average than a GPA depending on how hard you fail. Getting a 20% would still be a 0 GPA as well as a 55%. For four classes you could get A, A, A, F and have a GPA of 3 but in percentages you could 100%, 100%, 100% and 0% to get a 75% average.
Needless to say, when taking all the letter grades together they are a weighted average based on the credits given.
For systems that grade on a 1 to 5 scale, subtract 1 from your average grade to get your GPA (for example, if you have a 4.3 out of 5 average grade, you would have a 3.3 GPA). Not sure how to handle a grading system that goes from 1- to 5+.
We use percentile in Canada.

I'm going to blackjack my DM with the rules book and take his dice. If I wail on a guitar after (play, not play proficiently), can I start with three classes?
I can be any of these except for fighter just because I don't really want to kick my best friend's ass.
Then again, he is pretty scrappy, so like, I might end up getting my ass kicked instead if I tried, so either way, it's a wash for me.
You could always ask your friend to spar. Or do some boxing and win really hard. Take the friendship to the next level and Dom them.
I could be an Artificer, Warlock or Ranger.
Industrial mechanic, working for the government, have passed proficiency tests for weapons handling in the CAF.

I inherited my fathers sword, shield, and cloak, so maybe sorceror? Is there one that uses weapons like that? I haven't played one in ages.
Multiclass Fighter/Mage, yes.
But if I need to do the thing to multiclass, I can't be a fighter.
I'm either fighting my husband, and I... can't beat him up I'd be sad, or I'd literally being fighting my father's squire. He'd kick my ass.

oh fuck yes i love Wizardry
I qualify for every class but Wizard (DNF college and who remembers thier High School GPA from 20 years ago (fuck I'm Old)), Cleric (Atheist), or Warlock (work in a small local trade shop).
I reject instruments only for bard, but I can play an ocarina poorly anyways.
Question about Sorcerer, what makes a family heirloom powerful? Is it size? Weight? Monetary Value? Notoriety?
Anything is powerful if you can sell the idea of it being powerful. Admittedly mine is a stretch but a fully functional and stable Windows Me laptop.

Either warlock or wizard for me. My brother qualifies for druid and monk, but i'm sure he'd go for fighter just to beat the DM
Can I be a druid with a subclass of barbarian? Got the druid but fucking nailed. Sometimes I'm a temperamental little bitch, but not enough to translate to berserker rage.
I can point to famous ancestors and have been accused of being both a demon and magical fey creature in daily life, can I be a sorceress?

Yes, yes you can.
I can definitely be a bard, druid, or wizard and I can maaaybe swing fighter or paladin depending the GM. Particularly for fighter. Fortunately for me I love bards and druids. I don't think I can figure out a coherent bard/druid multiclass to truly be a self-insert, but I may have to try

Works for me, I already wanted to be a Death Metal Bard.
