Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. - Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

But their not a news network. They're an entertainment network.
By definition making them a fake news network.
So tired of this asshole.
yep. was thinking the other day, we need to be aware:
when he dies, no matter the cause, when people celebrate, they'll be doxxed by rightwing fuckwits.
so that's a future we have to look forward to.
I'm imagining about 32% of the country doxing the 50+% of normal Americans that won't exactly be sad about Taco's passing...I would say I don't believe it would be a thing, but I am watching the unfolding of their hysterical overreaction to a Z-list podcast "star" getting shot and people that don't agree with Nazism getting fired for quoting the Nazi, so....sadly, you are probably correct.
Trump’s dead in this scenario, though? Worth it.
I hope so.
Truly. Because it would REALLY REALLY FUCKING SUCK to find out after he keeled over from hamberder that a fascist dictatorship run by a bumbling moron is preferable to a fascist dictatorship run by half competent types.
or god forbid even a fascist skilled at the tools of governance.
Facism
So Fox "News" will be taken off the air? Because that would be the correct interpretation of his words.
Fine by me. CNN just sane washes everything.
Chimo says what?
Of course he does. Silencing the press is a vital part of the fascist agenda
So, FOX?
Hahahhaha no not like that, unilaterally these laws don't work.
Can I upvote you 🔂
No, leave it at 69. :D
This senile fuck has no idea he's turned up the water too fast and everyone is noticing the boil. Firing Kimmel didn't go well, what makes him think this will be any different? Same day as the Qatari air base? Bold move.
They'll start with MSNBC. People will complain but if they stay the course it will become the new normal. Other news networks will adjust their programming to avoid the same fate. Part of why the Kimmel thing failed was because it was indirect action - the threat was to not grant approval for the Nexstar merger, but the media and publishing backlash made them reinstate Kimmel.
If they start directly revoking licenses then the "kill chain" is basically 1 or 2 links long and the order coming right from Trump's office.
Personally I think he could get away with it. Americans are still mostly too comfortable for the kind of action it would take to actually stop him.
But what can people do about it?
A general strike. The country would be brought to its knees if suddenly deprived of profit and labor. That tactic was extremely effective in Chile in 2019, and had they not fallen for the trick of liberal reform, they would've had a successful revolution on their hands with virtually no bloodshed.
If you aren't in a union (or even if you are, it's worth dual-carding), please consider joining the IWW to unionize your workplace (bonus: you'll get higher wages, better benefits, and more time off if you succeed!) to strengthen a general strike if we manage to enact one.
And for our international friends, you should join one as well, as fascism is gaining momentum globally. If your country isn't listed below, just contact the IWW directly in the link above.
What can we do about it?
First of all, recognize that the most cowardly creature on the planet is an American politician - every last one of them. They are feral animals, and the only thing they understand is fear, which is why they use it on us so often. They think we are just as cowardly as they are.
So put the pressure on them, and they will back down every single time, and if they don't, then pressure them harder, and then you vote them out, and if they don't leave, you CRUSH them mercilessly.
These people work for US, and that is not rhetoric, it is literally the truth. They need to know that we expect them to do what they are told, because if we are forced to do their jobs for them, it will be very, very bad for them.
What did people do last time and the time before that and the time before that? This isn't new we know the outcome of these sorts of things.
A key milestone of the Dark Enlightenment agenda is to scapegoat (per mimetic theory) Trump after he has dismantled democracy and have him replaced by Vance by way of 25th amendment.
Hard to believe anyone buys into that "Dark Enlightenment" bollocks, but apparently some of the most powerful people in the world do. We should probably do something about this now.
Make friends and grow potatoes.
If you believe in class consciousness, and you should because the oligarchs do, you must accept that they too will act in their class interests, including believing in flattering and useful lies.
We're about to have underground and pirate news networks.
What a time to be alive.
WWII and the Nazi regime 2.0
They are so unimaginative that the only thing they can do is to repeat history
And of course he's the one who decides which are which...
Notice he didn’t mention CBS.
Yeah Skydance/Paramount/CBSViacom just bought the Free Press for $150 million and installed Bari Weiss as CBSNews editor-in-chief.
Hadn't heard that... just read up on it some and wow. Horrifying!
Trump's return to the White House this year has brought a revival of his adversarial relationship with the media.
Keep calling a nuclear bomb a stick of dynamite. That’s how the news will die.
the 'fake news' networks don't have them, numbnuts.
I hope he does it during nfl playoffs.
