But once I went to Montreal with a friend from Paris, and he was so pissed off that no one spoke "French"

Translation : fucking French from the Plateau (quarter)

That’s an ongoing joke in Montreal that French people come live at the Plateau just to be asshole, they don’t know shit about winter but try to explain to you that Converse and -40° Canuck is an acceptable wear for the season.
