People talk about going back in time to kill Hitler. College humor had a skit where they talked about why you'd have to do it as a baby, and the world would hate you as a kind of funny haha. Or maybe it was stopping 9/11? But imagine going back in time and killing Booth. Even right before the act. "Some guy just showed up and killed America's second favorite actor, right behind the president!" No way to spin it to them. "No guys I swear he was the bad guy"
Go and stop 9/11 and youre a super racist who just murdered some Muslim pilots.
They weren't pilots.... Killing people is wrong regardless of religion or profession but you should know the people who did 9/11 were passengers who basically broke into the cockpit and took it over.
They were taking pilot lessons to learn how to maximize the damage. The flight instructors raised concerns but nothing was done and the FAA gave them a commercial pilot certificate.
Sure, in the prime timeline. But in the pocket universe alternate timeline where time travelers went and executed the perpetrators, I'd say the instructors' concerns were addressed
They were definitely not intended yo be the planes pilots, but they did take flying lessons to prep for it.

Because the powers pulling in the negative direction has a much easier job than the powers pulling in a positive direction. The negative powers just has to play to peoples stupidity, fear and hatred. Simple black and white "solutions" (ie. just fault the outgroups for everything).
The positive powers have to stick to complex and often longterm solutions which requires effort and thought for people to understand the benefits of.

If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that. What I do about Slavery and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save this Union, and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.
