Funnily enough this imagery, being surrounded by the people they have made their enemies, straight up gets fascists hard.

Fortress Europe, the Yellow Peril, the Domino Effect, they want so badly to pretend they're Spartans at Thermopylae fighting the tide and too ignorant to know that the Spartans, and everyone else, thought they would win that battle and it was only the naval victory that saved the Greek alliance's slave states.

Everything you said after "pretend they're Spartans" would be lost on them, because they only know what the movie 300 has taught them.

"what's a Thermo-pile? What's the navy gotta do with Spartans? Stop trying to bring slavery into everything, Spartans wasn't woke"

I do hate America though, to be clear. I think you should too. The empire is irredeemable and I hope it dies with a whimper.

I criticize it because I love it.
