I never go on Twitter. Holy hell was that some racist cesspool in there. I think it might be worse than 4chan at this point.
Well what do you know? The pivot to other minorities is getting here already. Following the playbook to a T.
We are truly living in the Misinformation Age, so expect this stuff to get much worse. Further, because AI enables decent deepfakes, it allows people to silo themselves in a fantasy bubble world that reinforces their belief system. Any bad videos showing people on their side of the political spectrum will be immediately dismissed as fake without consideration, while even the weakest deepfakes that reinforce their views will be seen as reality. I don't think anyone is well prepared for how horribly wrong this will all go.
Anyone with a brain would look at that and go, huh, they aren't hiding their faces, seems suspicious.
We all know the target audience of that post doesn't have a brain though.
Exposed, accused, whatever, does not matter. People saw it, people believed it, done. The right has has years to experiment on find my to be right. Lie moves around the world with the truth is getting it's shoes on, and so on.
We'll never win fighting a non-stop rearguard action. Time to lie. It's either that or violence. I'd rather lie.
