Tired to search everytime an exchange to swap Monero ? (ybnc7t4gnaixrvawshppx6nauxrvyxf4nmppfk74ztqgd46q3ifjl4id.onion)

Hi guys, I run intercambio with OrangeFren and I wanted to do a very full presentation.

Intercambio is an exchange aggregator

If you're tired to find liquidity providers, our front-end is doing it for you. Put an amount to swap and a monero address to receive, we will display the swap and sourcing it.

Intercambio is an exchange aggregator like many others, but focused on privacy

We do everything to keep users anonymous:

  • A Tor & I2P hidden-service access, without logging (IP, user-agent ect..) or JavaScript (the clearnet access is protected by Cloudflare so be sure to use the hidden services for this feature). Image
  • Never KYC filter, to ensure no KYC procedures because selected exchanges will not
We're also doing good user experience and swap features.

We're trying to mix privacy with utility and a easy-to-use interface:

  • Providing multi-hop swaps. If you can't find a swap from a crypto to an other, we will split the swap (For example: ETH on BNB ➡️ LTC ➡️ XMR).
  • A Trade tab is available if you're running bulk swaps to follow their status. Image
We're featured on a lot of places !
We donate to projects building for privacy

You're welcome 😄

May I ask why OrangeFren uses cloudflare? If any privacy service utilizes cludflare, I typically run away as fast as I can.

[-] snitchy_asc@monero.im 5 points 11 months ago

We use it as a dDoS/scrap protection while planning to move for basedflare, however I understand your worries that's why we have a hidden-service (not cloudflare protected).

Honestly, I had a feeling this would be the reply. I can maybe understand that for non-privacy-focused services advertising to "Normie's" on clearnet.

But then why not defer the launch until you got it working with basedflare?

Moreover, why LEAD with the clearnet links, here of all places. Monero peeps are surely familiar with Tor and TAILS. At a far greater rate than the avg public, and use it when and wherever possible.

All of your links above are clearnet. Lead with the .onion hidden services here. Makes more sense and seems common sense to me. (Edit to clarify: the tor and i2p links ARE included, but below the fold in the body. The clear net links are led much more strongly with)

Sorry if I didn't mandatory put the hidden-service on the presentation, since probably a lot of people here aren't using Tor (I do it anyway). We recently found basedflare and as said before, if someone wants a NoJS and NoLog experience, it just needs to use our hidden-service (it's made for that it not goes trough the reverse proxy ect). If the service makes profits, we can expect a bigger infrastructure with dedicated captcha solution but for the moment we can't

[-] VolunTerry@monero.town 2 points 11 months ago

Understood.

Maybe edit the post to make the .onion hiddems service links at top, and the clearmet links down bottom with a disclaimer that they use cloudflare for now?

Also, if you type the full URL instead of using embed links, users will not be surprised if they click it and it opens on clearnet.

Best luck with it. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks you I will do that

And to follow-up, this is not meant as an attack. I love people building out more tools for the community and am grateful for it. As I said elsewhere in this very thread, I have used and recommended OrangeFren in the past.

But when common sense stuff gets missed it makes me wonder about the thoughtfulness of the people providing the service.

Even if not malicious, If basics are missed in communication, what else is missed on the back end I don't know about?

A bad move. Your "Tails donation" link is itself not Tails-friendly. Have you actually ever been on Tails? Get the details right.

[-] snitchy_asc@monero.im 3 points 11 months ago

The Tails donation is going trough https://farside.link who's aggregating Nitter instances, you also can access to farside and nitter instances over Tor so I dont get what you're saying 🤔

[-] Saki@monero.town 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

We have uBlock Origin on Tails, not just Tor. If you were on Tails, you’d know a working Nitter instance.

PS.

  1. When a random instance is randomly called, the instance might be behind CloudFlare, which wants to “scan” Tor Browser, saying “One moment please…” (TB users know this too well.)
  2. While this is annoying and time-wasting, if you’re using a vanilla version of TB, chances are they’ll let you go.
  3. On Tails, however, we have uBO, so fingerprints are different. This sometimes causes an infinite loop of “One moment please…” perhaps b/c uBO blocks CF scanning scripts.
  4. Because of this, and because CF is everywhere nowadays, when something doesn’t work on TB on Tails, the first thing a user might say is “We have uBO.” Hope this makes sense! And sorry, I was not clear enough.
[-] snitchy_asc@monero.im 3 points 11 months ago

Yes theres uBlock, and ? You can use intercambio or nitter with the most strict uBlock settings, without problems because theres no tracking content. I don't get your point 🤷‍♂️

That's a redirector, maybe a specific instance is down or having a specific policy but farside can redirect you to an other one. In case you dont understood, I put farside to be sure someone gets a up instance, some of used instances got hidden-services. If I had put one specific instance it could end down.

[-] Saki@monero.town 1 points 11 months ago

I’ll accept that you’re saying you did this out of good will. So you too can accept that the results were not necessarily ideal, as many instances are not (or no longer) exactly Tor-friendly.

When talking to Tails users next time, you might want to consider nitter.oksocial.net (officially used by EFF too)

[-] snitchy_asc@monero.im 1 points 11 months ago

I tested the instance you shown without problem, you more likely got a node abused many times because cleaner ones haves no problem

A copycat in a way, but having more options is not bad. Except this FAQ statement feels a bit disrespectful & preposterous.

Is it really anonymous?

Unlike others exchange aggregator Intercambio is created by Trusted Monero Community members who have years of experience in providing the best possible privacy to their users.

They mean, “Unlike Trocador”…?! “Trusted Monero Community members 🤥”???

[-] homelessbroke@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 10 months ago

They offers a no-log policy, while Trocador is not ( source: their privacy policy). So yes they provides more privacy 🤷‍♂️ On the trusted members I dont closely follow monero to know/affirm that

[-] Saki@monero.town 1 points 10 months ago

Trocador shows it explicitly whether a specific CEX is no-log or requiting IP logging, which you can choose. This new thing doesn’t even has TOS nor Privacy Policy to begin with. Yet as long as you use onion, logging by the front-end is rather irrelevant.

Even if the front-end is not logging anything (which no one can verify), a CEX behind it surely records the tx and retains it as required by laws (some of them might be less than perfectly legal and might not record anything, though that would mean a different kind of risk). Using a CEX is more or less risky, be it Trocador or something else. Some may think that an instant swap by CEX is convenient. Personally I prefer DEX, even though it may be less convenient, even though Monero.town itself has an official affiliate link to Trocador too.
