What the hell is going on with "I wouldn't take it if it was free" 'it's below my social status' "I can make it from SF to la on 50-100$of gas"... I know that garbage view point is everywhere, but it makes me hesitant to engage with hacker news.

HN (and the tech sector in general) is a cesspool of right-wing “fuck you I got mine” and “it doesn’t matter if it ends the world if I generate value for my investors” attitudes.

It was the hot new industry so of course the money perverts are out in force
