Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Happy Christmas Eve Eve

I'm making pizza dough for tomorrow. 24 hours in the fridge, let it rise for a few hours then I'll be firing up the ooni.

[-] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 2 points 11 months ago

Which ooni do you have and how do you like it? I’m considering getting one seeing as the kids ask for pizza at least twice a week

[-] evanuggetpi@lemmy.nz 3 points 11 months ago

I have an ooni fyra 12 https://nz.ooni.com/products/ooni-fyra

Love it. It took a few attempts to not burn the pizza because it gets to 500 degrees c. About a minute is all it takes, turning twice.

I'm feeling like Bandit in that episode of Bluey where the neighbour gets a pizza oven and then he decides he needs to go get one too.

[-] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 3 points 11 months ago

If you get one, I'm getting one (even though I'm not your neighbour)

[-] Dave@lemmy.nz 2 points 11 months ago

I'm not getting one (yet) 🙁

[-] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 2 points 11 months ago

Well there goes my excuse!

Any reason for the pellet one over gas? I like the idea of the multi fuel ones, but think the convenience of just using gas means I'll be more likely to use it

[-] evanuggetpi@lemmy.nz 2 points 11 months ago

Yeah, I just prefer wood over gas. A bag of pellets lasted me ages.

Ho ho ho, is that the sound of bells I hear?

[-] sortofblue@lemmy.nz 3 points 11 months ago

Nope, that's the sound of irate drivers leaning on their horns because people have lost their minds.

Oh, and I heard the first cicada of the summer this morning.

Its so hot I have to sleep with my leg hanging out the window!

[-] Dave@lemmy.nz 1 points 11 months ago

It's so hot I've had to break out the shorts!

[-] sylverstream@lemmy.nz 4 points 11 months ago

Yeah, the insurance claim for the damage to our vehicle has been approved! A truck failed to stop, rear ending a car, in turn rear ending us. 17k damage :/

[-] Dave@lemmy.nz 1 points 11 months ago

Wow! Getting rear ended by a truck is not my idea of a good time.

The woman in the car was in a bad shape, was unconscious until ambulance arrived after ONE HOUR. Ridiculous, we were in Christchurch CBD. Police and tow truck arrived after 15mins or so but the thing needed most took forever. That woman's car was totalled.
