Merry Christmas!

More Konsi is exactly what I needed

Knowing Konsi, she probably checked it twice too ๐Ÿ˜

She and Razira were naughty and nice.

She shows great wisdom to just roll with whatever nonsense the PC says they can do.

In my script, I had another of the characters saying "wise choice" from off camera in panel 5, but I cut it for space and clarity.

It makes the dialogue flow more entertaining, but I couldn't squeeze it in with visual coherence.

More like "about time" or "took you long enough." :P

As a tall person I can confirm that using a short girlfriend's head as an elbow rest is a gesture of affection. I also do this with platonic friends, to mixed results. My favorite recollection is walking up to a college friend on campus who was talking to someone else, she introduced me and I did the armrest thing while joining the conversation. After a minute the other person said "Um, are you gonna..." And my friend said "Nah, he'll get bored with it eventually and I'm used to it. I have a lot of tall friends."

Man I want to read all of these in order but the website order is really hard to follow. I think it jumps between different stories?

[-] ahdok@ttrpg.network 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I didn't start out to make a narrative, just a gag-a-week, and for variety I try to avoid having the same characters for two consecutive comics (this means Konsi comics are currently every other week)

However, the more recent Konsi stuff is chronological. If you want to follow that in order, you can click the "Konsi" character tag at the bottom of a comic, it'll filter all the comics by that setting only. They're in reverse chronological order, so start at the end and work backwards.

Hope that helps :)

But who picked the best breakfast? I'm torn between sausage+bacon+eggs and medium steak+ beer.

I wonder what Konsi will make for herself, or if she'll just forget she needs to eat too...

[-] ahdok@ttrpg.network 11 points 1 year ago

When you play lots of fictional characters, but roleplay enough that this kind of thing comes up - I tend to find it helps to have a simple memorable "rule" to follow, so you can be consistent.

In the case of food, Konsi likes everything. (How could she not, with her characterization? Konsi doesn't have it in her to hate anything.) - However if we're talking preferences, her favourite foods are the ones that look most like her. Broccoli is her absolute top pick.

So, she'd probably make a huge vegetable salad.

A small, medium rare steak, with some scrambled eggs and hash browns is a fucking fantastic breakfast.

More Konsi, always better ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I love these comics. The style is so cute!

[-] Lesrid@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Why can't she change the subject?

[-] ahdok@ttrpg.network 4 points 11 months ago

The others are having too much fun with her embarrassment to let her.

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Ok, so I know she has Moradin's hammer, so I assume that's being used to magically create food, but is this a homebrew spell, or an interesting use of a standard cleric spell?

[-] ahdok@ttrpg.network 3 points 11 months ago

It's actually neither! It's going to be an interesting use of a standard non-cleric spell. Expect the answer 2 weeks from now though.

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

I believe this was addressed in one of the comics: She uses the hammer itself as a portable frying pan.

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah, they said she used the side of it to make pancakes. The method she's using is what I'm curious about.

One of my wizard characters invented a first level spell to graduate wizard's school. She was allowed to keep it, but the headmaster erased the memories of the other two professors, and made my character swear to never cast the spell in front of anyone, ever again. Apparently it could have reignited the Wizard/Cleric War, and nobody wanted that.

The spell in question:

Cast Vegetables

Lvl 1 Wiz

School: Abjuration

Components: V,S,M

Casting Time: 1 turn

Cast Vegetables is a focused application of wild magic using Burning Hands as the formative spell, and at least one fruit, nut, berry, or vegetable as the material component, though more will give more variety of food.

The spell uses the components to create random fruits, nuts, berries, and vegetables that equal 1 days rations for an adult human per level of caster, up to 5. The abjured vegetables are only useful as food, they cannot be used either as material components, or as seeds.

No one in the party ever questioned how she was able to go "forage" massive amounts of vegetables in way too short of a time. She was busy distracting them with much flashier spells.

[-] Flushmaster@ttrpg.network 2 points 11 months ago

Rules nerd nitpickery: If this is for D&D, scaling spells to caster level is a Third Edition mechanic and was done away with for 5e due to balance issues with the new system. Also that's clearly a conjuration spell; abjuration is protective or purification type magic.

Not that this really matters for a "summon giant salad" spell but OCD demands and such.

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

It was for 3rd, and may have been evocation. I just remember that the DM and I had an entire discussion about them specifically not being conjured. Hence them not being recursive material components or seeds.

Konsi armrest? KONSI ARMREST!

[-] figaro@lemdro.id 1 points 11 months ago

Still freakin love these. It is the best thing that exists on Lemmy. Thank you!

[-] JakenVeina@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah, "made out with."

[-] TimewornTraveler@lemm.ee 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I kinda don't like how I never get a whole episode. it's always a partial story, and I have to read the others to get it, but the sequential posts never get visibility. these comics are a really dissatisfying tease. there's no self-contained arc or punchline. the whole thing is she doesn't wanna do breakfast, the end! it sucks cuz i love the art and character but i cannot love your stories - you dont LET me

[-] ahdok@ttrpg.network 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

That's an unfortunate issue with single comic format - and with the fact that I draw these as a hobby in my spare time, and with my choice of medium and how much work it is to make one. But every comic does have a punchline.

You can read the whole thing so far on my site here - Wordpress archives are reverse chronological, so start at the bottom and work up.
