Missed bait-and-switch opportunity to describe the history of Scandinavia's borders and country formation.
Why did Norway get all the fjords?
Glaciers.
I saw this thread and thought as I clicked, "I wonder if anyone's posted.. oh, good."
Something interesting, in a math-related way, about Norway fjords is they have a fractal estructure, and can be modelled using Schramm–Loewner evolution.
