This is starting to feel like a regular thing, but we're now on 0.18.2.

Release notes are here - https://join-lemmy.org/news/2023-07-11_-_Lemmy_Release_v0.18.2

Do people value me posting this each time we upgrade? Should I continue? Edit: answer is yes!

It’s nice to know that’s for sure.

I find it useful!

Definitely nice to know.

[-] Kyle@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Yes! How else can we be notified of upgrades? It also explains when things look or work differently, so I appreciate it.

[-] aedyr@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Definitely yes. I enjoy seeing the technical and administrative updates.

If these announcements wreck the SNR, just move it to !meta -- but for now, we appreciate the updates :)

This is a good suggestion, as it is more relevant for folks on lemmy.ca than other instances.

No harm in letting us know.

If it's not too much of a burden, it's nice to know; at least while it's on the "0."-phase. Also because we can keep an eye open for bugs in the new versions when we're warned.

Thank you for all the continuous amazing work! 🥇

Thanks! I wish there were better web UI options (not just themes). Voyager is neat for mobile, but isn't great for desktop browsing. I hope more tools or alternative UIs popup (or even something like RES for lemmy).

Mobile apps are coming. Personally I was a long time sync user, so I'm excited for Sync for lemmy.

You can run android apps on Windows now I think.

[-] anonymoose@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I love the mobile apps we have already, I'm using Connect and Voyager (wefwef). I'm personally waiting for Boost for Lemmy, then it'll be like the good old days again!

On desktop though, the UI leaves a lot to be desired. I can't block communities on the feed or hide posts, for instance. Apps on Windows would have worked, but the UI is usually optimized for small touchscreens, which isn't great. I'm sure the UI on desktop will improve soon.
