I might be totally wrong here, but I always thought the info held by the electoral commission was public anyway?
Isn't this data used by debt collectors to find you?
Information on the open register is available.
Information on the closed register (people who have opted out) is restricted to legitimate uses, and more controlled.

Why did it take 14 months to discover the breach? Why did it take 10 more months to disclose it? Absolute clowns.
Never in my life will I support digital voting.
This wasn't a hack on digital voting it was a breach of records for the electoral registers.
