Elon Musk suffered one of the biggest legal losses in U.S. history this week when the Tesla CEO was stripped of his $56 billion pay package in a case brought by an unlikely opponent, a former heavy metal drummer.

Tornetta also turned up in videos drumming at the legendary former New York club CBGB with his now-defunct metal band "Dawn of Correction", which described its sound as "a swift kick to the face with a steel-toed work boot."

"I was in a band for seven years. It was a death metal band. People either loved us or they hated us. Or they thought we were okay. A lot of bands have intense names, like "Rigor Mortis" or "Mortuary". We weren't that intense—we called ourselves "Injured". Later on we changed it to "Acapella" when we were walking out of the pawn shop." - Mitch Hedberg

I love his humor. Fuck, that’s such a well-crafted joke. RIP.

Anyone who thinks they deserve $56B compensation as CEO should never be allowed to be a CEO.

They were/are paying it so far though, that's what's crazy too.

Did you see the part where the guy in charge of negotiating on behalf of the company against Musk, was his own personal lawyer.

No I did not, narcissists and lawyers have interesting relationships, lol.

I'd say people in that position need that sort of confidence to do their job well. But that's why there's a board of directors: to reign in that ridiculous CEO overconfidence. Musk is the headline because he makes headlines but the real fuckers here are the board who though "sure, $56 billion dollars seems reasonable".

Note: my Tesla was in the shop for ELEVEN months waiting for spare fucking parts from Tesla. I wonder how many they could have made with $56 billion...

“Bashed"? Not “slammed” or “ripped”? Even “shredded”?

Idk, I don't think drummers shred or rip, but they certainly bash.

I think bashed is actually warranted here, he loses 56 billion dollars when a lot of his companies are starting to decline.

Edit: damn, that was a woosh, I get it now.

How long until the man-baby smears this guy on X (formerly known as Twitter)?

I'm not sure where the surprise comes in, here. Joey Shithead is an excellent member of local government, and the fact he's famous doesn't affect anything. Band people can be smart .

I think it was because he only had around 9 shares that was the surprise.
