I feel like everyone is having ADHD nowadays
Either overdiagnosed or it was severly underdiagnosed.
I'm leaning towards underdiagnosed personally
I think the best part was after my diagnosis and I told my parents (I was diagnosed as an adult @ 29) they went on a rant about how it wasn't real and my teachers and doctors have been trying to shove pills down my throat since I was a kid. So I guess that was pretty eye opening into why I wasn't diagnosed sooner.
Wow, same for me. I've heard many rants about how they just want to put me on pills. Of course, I didn't get any help in non-medication related ways either
Or some change in everyone's environment causing similar issues...
I remember 10 or 15 years ago reading a study about children watching TV and having ad breaks jump in for consecutive 30 second distractions (with exciting toys/products kids get a flood of dopamine seeing) being linked to a rise in it.
Mauricio? Is that you? 🤣
miaaaaau?
Nostalgia? I'm nearing 40 and all I have to do is switch out "room" with "home office" to make this applicable to me.

Can someone explain what it's like having a dirty room everyday? I'm a clean freak so my house is spotless. I've got a 4 roombas zooming around all day everyday. All my trash....goes in the trash can. But i see people having loads of water bottles on their desk for weeks and it doesn't faze them. I just can't stand filth.
Being a clean freak isn't healthy or normal either.
Yes that is true. I just can't help it.
I tend to forget about my many half-finished projects unless I can see them, so most horizontal surfaces are set up and have a project of some sort on them. I have added more bench space and plan to add more. It does mean that if I have drive to do a task, it's already set up and I don't have to worry too much about takedown either. I could probably stand to dust more (or more often than when I move house).
Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of tools and odds and ends in drawers, cupboards, toolboxes etc. But like, if a work piece has glue drying on it (say), it will probably live where that is happening until I next work on it.
Trash migrates to the appropriate bin quickly. I have been depressed (and am still) and have had dirty dishes and trash pile up a little, but I really don't like insects or errant smells in my space, so I usually stay on top of it.
I just kinda remember roughly where things are. I have tried to be more organised, but I wind up losing things until I next open the very logical place I put something.
I do clean up for rent inspection, but my current place doesn't have them.
EDIT: When I have housemates I tend to match their level of organisation in shared areas. I seem to wind up doing all the dishes for some reason.
