I turned NSFW off but I am not really into the sexualized celebrity obsession sideboob shit that slips through the filter. Y'all are too horny 😂

Do I have to keep blocking each community one by one or is there a way I can defederate myself from lemmy.nsfw?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

There really needs to be granular NSFW settings on Lemmy, or more correctly I need to improve my Rust so I can go and implement it myself instead of bitching about it!

I’m not anti-porn but I don’t want it mixed in my normal content. Other non-sexual NSFW stuff is fine 24/7, artistic nudity is fine 24/7, but I don’t want to see outright porn unless that’s what I’m specifically looking for!

Also, different tags for nudity and whatnot, and gore. I'm okay with boobs, I'm not okay with watching folks getting killed.

Seconding this. I've used both and I had no idea what OP was talking about.

Some 3rd party apps have that feature I believe, but Lemmy itself doesn't. I too am annoyed by all the lemmynsfw spam. My community block list is loooong and keeps growing.

Where do you get the issue? When browsing in all? I mostly browse in der local that's maybe why I didn't have the issue yet.

There’s so much activity in All, it’s wonderful, but yeah, that’s where this issue exists.

[-] trevron@beehaw.org 6 points 1 year ago

Yeah it is when I am browsing all with memmy.

kbin lets you do this, I'm told - I've only blocked communities and a few individuals so far, though, so can't speak to how well it works.

You can block domains on kbin, but it's somewhat bugged right now. It appears that blocking domains can cause posting errors if you're creating threads or pictures, including making comments invisible on threads when you're logged in.

To access kbin's domain view, go to kbin.social/d/[your domain here] . You'll have an option to subscribe to or block the instance. Example:

https://kbin.social/d/beehaw.org

Blocking domains isn't meant to be, nor functions like, an instance block. More of a "I hate seeing links from whatever.com appearing in my feed, so im blocking that domain so any threads linking to it won't appear". Doing the same thing on an instance's domain will block some things, but far from all.

kbin will have an actual instance block 'soon', however.

Edit: Also what Arotrios said - it's also buggy right now and having a domain blocked is breaking shit for some people.

Right, that's what I was afraid of.

It's teenage kids mostly I would guess, from the massive interest in celeb sideboobs...
