Is there a way to get custom swipe animations on android? (lemmy.ca)

I come from iOS jailbreaking, and there was a tweak called cylinder that would add custom swipe animations when swiping from page to page in the home screen. I was wondering if there was anything similar to that on android. I’m willing to root if it’s required.

Try 3rd party launchers like Nova, Action Launcher, Lynx Launcher etc. No need to root, just install (and maybe pay a few bucks).

Oh Cylinder, a tweak name I haven't heard in a long time... I used to love it!

As for getting the custom animations some other launchers that others have already recommended you are good, but be aware you are trading those neat animations for cringe animations system wide, because Android fucked up this since I don't remember when. ☠️

I checked out some launchers, and they’re decent, but not as great as cylinder unfortunately. Cylinder’s animations were just on a different level.

I dunno if this meets your needs, but I've been using Panels to add some quick actions to a swipe along a configurable edge of the screen. It's pretty handy for quickly pulling up frequently-used apps without going to the home screen and scrolling through the app drawer. You can also set up widgets and other shortcuts for some quick access, as well.

I haven't tried it yet, but the same developer has another app that looks pretty similar, but has a wheel menu, instead. Not sure if this is something you could make use of, but figure I'll share it, too. It looks like it's not been updated for a while, though, so this might be deprecated.

I use Nova whatever the paid tier is and love it and the ability to truly customize your screens
